Ancenis, France

Our Brief Stop in Ancenis, France | Breezing Through

We drove from Paris to Nantes, which takes about 4 hours. We arrived at 3:30 am on Thursday January 28. We had some time to sleep in because our meeting was at 2 pm. The meeting went until 5:15 pm. We got back in the car and headed back to Paris.

Since we slept in so late, we didn’t eat breakfast or lunch. We only had time to find and eat Peanut M&Ms and water before our meeting. So we were hungry after the meeting. We drove back to Paris through the Loire Valley which is famous for its chateaus. We decided since we had some day light left, we would stop at the first sign we saw that looked cool. We saw the signs for Ancenis and decided it would do. We were right!

It took an hour of walking around to find a place to eat. Most were closed or only open for drinks. The place we found was amazing though! I had a salad with pork, fresh tomatoes, dried tomatoes, and a poached egg. My dad had the fillet of fish, which I pretty sure they fished out of the river. They were both delicious!

We made it back to Paris at about 11:30 pm. When we checked into the hotel, they asked what time our flight was the next day. When we told them 7:10 am, they asked if we would like a breakfast box to take with us since we would be missing breakfast. Of course we said yes! After Face timing with family, we only got about 3 hours of sleep. The breakfast boxes the hotel provided were adorable and I could actually eat some of it.

Of course the car rental agency was closed when we arrived to drop the car. And I have already had bad experiences at the CDG airport, this just added to the list. The airport is very nice but too big with too many terminals that are not easy to travel between. I did get hot chocolate out of a machine though, that was quite the experience.

Wednesday will be all about Vienna. We had 24 hours there so we did a lot! Thanks for reading!
