What To Do With Those Seashells

What To Do With Those Seashells | Breezing Through

If you are anything like me, you have a pile of seashells from your beach trips this summer. Maybe you found some really neat shells you couldn’t let go of or your kids went crazy and wouldn’t let you throw them back. Either way, you now have a basket/bucket/box full of seashells and you don’t know what to do with them!

When I travel, I love picking up something to help me remember my trip. If I am somewhere there is water, I am usually gathering sand, seashells and rocks. Over the years, I have put these unique items into jars so that I can remember each of my trips in a really inexpensive way.

Today I am going to take you step by step through two different ways I store & show off my seashells.

  1. Gather some sand and the seashells you will be using. You will also need a vase.
  2. Fill the bottom of the vase with about 1 inch of sand. You can change this depending on the look you are going for.
  3. Sort through your seashells and decide which ones you will be using in the vase
  4. Make sure you go through the shells you have chosen and decide which ones you want to be able to see the best in the vase
  5. Start filling the vase with your seashells!

I have done this so many times, I have a few shelves full of jars and vases! I love that I can look at them and remember all of the trips I have gone on though!

This last set is a jar I did awhile ago that is one of my favorites!

I love the jar top! I have so many seashells, and they’re just sitting around in random drawers. I love this idea!
