German good is soul food for me. This was a cool little German Deli and shoppe in Mechanicsburg in central PA. We were passing through the area on business. The atmosphere was pretty bare bones, but they had all the right options if you are a fan of German food. The food was great and the service was friendly was a family feel. I highly recommend this place if you are nearby and like Bavarian-style German food.
It’s in an unassuming little house with a nicely-manicured lawn.
They had a number of different items in the shop up front.
When I saw the curry ketchup bottles, I knew they were legit.
The decor was a mix of bare bones and German restaurant kitsch.
The deli case had all the usual items.
We had a hard time picking what we wanted. There were many different options.
We all had a hard time picking.
I went with the sausage plate.
A funny little sign inside the door. The translation made me laugh. I will let you look it up on your own since this is a family blog…
The currywurst portion was huge.
Austin said the schnitzel was crispy and good.
The sausage plate was great.
The apple strudel with homemade whipped cream was delicious and not too sweet.
